Recapping the 2023 Atlanta NACCDO-PAMN Conference

NACCDO-PAMN ConferenceA record-setting 671 participants came together April 24-27 in Atlanta for the annual NACCDO-PAMN conference, hosted by Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.

This year’s conference had up to 9 concurrent tracks offering specialized content, making it our most robust programming ever. PAMN also debuted new Affinity Groups, designed to offer members year-round networking opportunities that drill down in their specific areas of expertise. (If you didn’t already sign up, learn how you can get involved.)

We heard from keynote speaker Nicole Walters, who meshed her personal story with a message that went beyond motivating to finding ways to take action on your “one day” goals. The conference ended with two dynamic interviews by longtime Atlanta TV anchor Monica Kaufman Pearson, which left a few of us writers wishing we could interview like her!

As always, we had plenty of opportunities to see our host city, including a tour of the new 17-story innovative cancer care center, Winship at Emory Midtown, and an evening of fun at the Skyline Park at Ponce City Market.

  • I loved how pampered we felt- from the delicious meals, fun activities, and pet therapy, it made learning and collaborating so enjoyable! Thank you.
  • I especially liked the sessions on digital content and how much updated info and future projecting they included. I was a huge fan of the Tuesday night event at Skyline, what a fantastic location. I also enjoyed the tour of Winship’s new building, it’s gorgeous and gave us some ideas for our (hopefully) new building in a couple years.
  • I loved all the fresh new ideas shared, specifically in physician relations.
  • The diverse range of topics focused on
  • hearing about other cancer centers’ success stories (and failures) as a guide to what we might do; tour of Emory Winship was amazing!

  • The tour of the new Winship building, the people, the expertise shared freely, the speakers at the opening and closing sessions.
