Happy New Year! I was so excited to turn the calendar to 2023 as we look forward to our upcoming NACCDO-PAMN conference April 24–27 in Atlanta, hosted by the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. The PAMN Steering Committee just returned from our annual winter planning meeting last week, where we focused on fine tuning important details for our conference programming, lining up our final speakers on topics that are of most interest to you.
Among the many highlights of this year’s conference will be the opportunity to engage in one of our emerging affinity groups. I hope you will take advantage of these topical networking groups. With four now established or well on their way, the affinity groups meet virtually so you can engage with colleagues from across the country all year round, not just at our annual conference, to share best practices, learn about new approaches in the field, and just compare notes on both the day-to-day and strategic issues that you face as cancer marketing and communications professionals.
You’ll find opportunities to learn more about the affinity groups and connect with their leaders throughout the three-plus days of the conference—hope you will take advantage! We also will be announcing soon the plans for our pre-conference workshop that takes place the Monday before the conference. Be sure to plan your travel accordingly! Stay tuned to the conference website, as well as our PAMN social media, for additional updates and announcements.
Don’t forget to register for the conference and renew those organizational memberships so you and your teams can take advantage of the membership conference rates. Questions? Visit the conference website, or reach out to us at PublicAffairsNetwork@gmail.com. I can’t wait to see everyone in April.
