A Message from the Chair: New beginnings

Christine Thomas, PAMN Chair

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I hope this message finds you enjoying the summer season and looking forward to quality time with loved ones. It is with great humility and honor that I assume the role of PAMN Chair for the next two years. I extend heartfelt thanks to Heidi Findlay for her exceptional leadership over the past term, and to former steering committee members Matthew Huesser, Kim Polacek and Natalie Rives for their invaluable contributions.

I’m thrilled to welcome our newest steering committee members: Daniel Cave, Jordan Clark and Courtney Colvin. Your expertise will undoubtedly enrich our endeavors.

Reflecting on our recent successes, the annual conference hosted by Huntsman Cancer Institute was a resounding triumph. The 2024 conference included the greatest number of collaboration tracks and yielded the highest sponsorship commitment in conference history. The Huntsman Cancer Institute team and conference steering committee knocked it out of the park.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting year planned as we continue to implement the strategic plan, including our ongoing collaboration with Casual Astronaut to revitalize PAMN’s brand, design a new website, enhance our year-round programming and develop a robust brand positioning strategy. We will share updates on these initiatives throughout the year.

In response to your feedback, we’ve established a programming workgroup. This team will collaborate closely with our curriculum, webinar and communications committees to enhance the scope, depth and frequency of our offerings. We are committed to offering year-round programming opportunities to keep you and your team informed about the latest cancer trends and priorities. These initiatives will ensure that you are equipped with the knowledge needed to excel in your profession. We’ve already begun this work and will delve deeper during our planning meeting in July.

Lastly, membership renewal season is upon us, so please remember to renew your PAMN membership. Your membership directly translates to enhanced benefits and a more dynamic PAMN experience. This year’s increase in dues will assist with a new membership portal, more efficient payment system, revamped website and networking community, year-round programming and continuous improvement efforts to ensure that PAMN remains at the forefront of the industry.

We are excited about these developments and look forward to rolling out these initiatives in the coming months. Your feedback and participation are invaluable as we continue to evolve and serve you better.

Thank you for being a valued member of PAMN and for your dedication and support. Together, we’ll propel PAMN to new heights of excellence.
