A Message from the Chair: See You in May

Who is ready for May?

This Buffalo girl right here! More daylight, flowers in bloom, no more shoveling (hopefully) and most exciting of all, our annual NACCDO-PAMN conference.

The conference planning committee has been working hard for months to pull off what is sure to be another NACCDO-PAMN conference to remember. This year marks an especially exciting milestone as we will be unveiling new strategic initiatives — key projects born of months of planning that will position PAMN for the future and enhance the value you get as a member.

Here’s what else you can look forward to, including some new features conference veterans are sure to enjoy!

  • Don’t miss our relevant and timely pre-conference workshop. Hone your skills in the important area of DEI communications. It’s just one example of the incredible content being presented this year thanks to the hard work of many!
  • Celebrate your team’s stellar work with our new PAMN awards. The award nominees and winners will be featured at our annual conference. Don’t delay!
  • Find your people at our affinity group gatherings! PAMN affinity groups give you an opportunity to connect with colleagues specializing in your area of work year-round. We have some special plans for these groups to meet up in person during the conference!

Be sure to register soon to take advantage of the networking power of this event and the dozens of power-packed sessions.

The perks of PAMN don’t stop at the conference. As part of our strategic planning, we’ve worked to identify ways for members to connect and find value year-round. Webinars are one route, and we want not just your input but your participation. Raise your hand and share your knowledge and experience.

Looking forward, we will be exploring new ways to collaborate with leading cancer organizations including the National Cancer Institute to further your knowledge and understanding of the cancer field. Our valued partnership with the NCI helps us keep you connected with insights and trends happening on the national level in cancer. We’re excited to welcome Nizia Alam as our new communications partner.

PAMN is a special organization, powered by an incredible group of talented, committed individuals who volunteer their time as elected Steering Committee members to help support you in your roles as cancer marketers and communicators. Our Steering Committee is elected annually – and elections are coming up! Watch your email before the May conference for more information if you’d like to help shape the future of PAMN and be a part of all the exciting work underway.

These are only a few of the exciting changes we have in store. Stay connected as we continue to roll out new programs and opportunities. And as always, tell us what you think! You can email me at publicaffairsnetwork@gmail.com.

Look forward to seeing you in May!
