A Message from the Chair: The Conference is Just Beginning

Friends, the highlight of our year is almost upon us! We’re now counting down by days until we converge on Salt Lake City and the beautiful Grand America hotel for the NACCDO-PAMN annual conference.

There really is no better networking experience than our annual conference. If you have yet to register, it’s not too late to meet up with PAMN colleagues representing nearly 50 NCI designated or AACI member cancer centers!

I see a lot of familiar names on the registration list — and many new ones too!  Whether you’re a PAMN veteran or newbie, be sure to tune in to the May 14 webinar for tips and tricks to make the most of your conference experience.

As you’ll hear about at the conference, bolstering the power of community is a key focus of our PAMN Strategic Plan. Key initiatives underway will help you grow the connections you make with one another to stay informed and inspired and to maximize the impact you have at your center.  We are more focused than ever on increasing the value you get from PAMN membership and also ensuring the PAMN organization is around to benefit many future generations of cancer marketing & communications professionals.

I could not be more excited for what is ahead for PAMN as my two-year term as chair of this incredible organization comes to an end after this year’s conference. Being part of PAMN has been one of the most rewarding parts of my nearly two-decade career in cancer. What an honor it has been to serve alongside some of the most committed, talented, thoughtful and hard-working colleagues from around the country, all for a mission that is so very personal and real to us all.

With our annual steering committee election opening today, I encourage anyone who has been thinking of running for a seat on the steering committee to submit your nomination now! You do not want to miss out on the opportunity to be part of this leadership team.

I sign off on my final Message from the PAMN Chair with so much hope for the future of cancer care and research, knowing that it is supported by the incredible marketers and communicators I’ve met along this journey, who will continue to see this organization to the next level.

See you all in just over a week to connect in person about it all!
