2018 NACCDO/PAMN Conference Making It Possible
March 26–29, 2018
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center looks forward to welcoming you to Seattle as it hosts the 2018 NACCDO/PAMN Annual Meeting!
Everyone associated with this thought-provoking and spirited conference plays an important role in the end goals of curing cancer and enriching the lives of those impacted by this disease. Supporting researchers. Raising money to help fund cutting-edge lab equipment. Creating institutional awareness. Engaging donors and advocates. Telling stories. Building relationships. This crucial work ultimately enables the delivery of better research-based patient care. The efforts of every single person attending this conference may not be visible to those who benefit from your time and talents, but you are truly among the heroes who are making it possible. So let’s gather, learn, share, inspire and acknowledge one another for these incredible efforts. Fred Hutch looks forward to welcoming you to Seattle in 2018!
Seattle — The Emerald City
Welcome to the Pacific Northwest! Seattle is a premier destination for arts and entertainment as well as a technology and life sciences innovation hub. The 2018 meeting will take place in the heart of downtown, which is conveniently located within walking distance of iconic locations such as Pike Place Market, home to the first Starbucks; and The Space Needle, which offers a 360-degree view of the Emerald City. With some of the most innovative companies located here, including Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon and of course our very own Fred Hutch, the Seattle area has something to offer everyone, whether it’s wine tasting in our own nearby wine country of Woodinville, hiking among the rugged mountain views of the Cascades, taking in a major sporting event or riding a ferry on the brisk waters of the Puget Sound. There are few cities in the world blessed with a more beautiful setting than Seattle. Come experience it all.
The Westin Seattle, centrally located downtown, has everything you need to ensure the perfect setting for meetings and conventions. Their twin cylindrical tower design is a signature landmark in the Seattle skyline and offers a retreat from the rigors of travel. Having just completed a guest room and meeting space renovation, we invite you to experience a new level of well-being.
Fred Hutch — Cures Start Here
At Fred Hutch, home to three Nobel laureates, interdisciplinary teams of world-renowned scientists seek new and innovative ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases. Our researchers bring a relentless pursuit of, and passion for, health knowledge and hope to their work and the world. Together, our researchers are discovering new ways to detect cancers earlier, when cure rates are highest; developing effective treatments with fewer side effects; and learning how to prevent cancers from occurring in the first place. Our groundbreaking discoveries began in the 1970s with Dr. E. Donnall Thomas’ pioneering work in bone marrow transplantation, which led him to receive the 1990 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine. Since then, Hutch researchers have made many other lifesaving breakthroughs, including developing immunotherapies that use the immune system to defeat cancer and advancing the understanding of human biology.
To accelerate our progress, we are part of the Fred Hutch / University of Washington Cancer Consortium. This research and clinical collaboration between the Hutch, the University of Washington, Seattle Children’s and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance enables our researchers to leverage each institution’s strengths and develop premier research programs across many types of disease. The Consortium is among 47 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers nationwide.
