About Huntsman Cancer Institute
Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Mountain West. We serve patients from Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Wyoming—amounting to 17 percent of the continental U.S. landmass and the largest catchment area of any other cancer center.
More genes for inherited cancers have been discovered at Huntsman Cancer Institute than at any other cancer center. Our scientists are world-renowned for understanding how cancer begins and using that knowledge to develop innovative approaches to treat each patient’s unique disease.
At its core, our work at Huntsman Cancer Institute aims to reduce human suffering. We are dedicated to creating an environment that insists upon access and equity for all communities, including our staff, providers, patients, and their loved ones. Huntsman Cancer Institute was founded by Jon M. and Karen Huntsman.
