Join Us for a Jam-Packed Pre-Conference Workshop

The Public Affairs & Marketing Network is collaborating with the Mayo Clinic Social Media Network (MCSMN) to offer a condensed and customized version of Mayo’s Social Media Residency program as a half-day preconference workshop on Monday, March 26 at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.

The pre-conference workshop will feature highlights of the Social Media Residency curriculum, tailored to meet the needs of Cancer Center communicators. Through this collaboration between PAMN and MCSMN, and hosted by Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, we’re able to offer this high-impact course and related resources to PAMN members for the special reduced rate of $195. This is a considerable savings off the regular $795 fee.

Background

Social Media Residency is a day-long course that provides training in social media best practices in health care contexts along with a framework for strategic application. The Residency prerequisite is completion of the Social for Healthcare Certificate from Mayo Clinic and Hootsuite, the world’s first CME-accredited course in the basics of social media in health care, with modules on:

  • Introduction to Social Media and Healthcare Facebook Basics
  • Twitter Basics

  • LinkedIn Basics
  • Visual Social Media (Pinterest and Instagram)
  • Monitoring and Measurement Professionalism

All registrants will receive both a six-month MCSMN Individual Premium Membership and access to the Social for Healthcare Certificate (offered separately by Hootsuite for $400). This enables those who are less familiar with social media platforms to get up to speed quickly, while also providing important foundational information on measurement and professionalism.

Building on these resources, through the in-person workshop you will explore:

  • Strategic essentials for social media application in health care.
  • Advanced best practices, latest developments and expected evolution of general purpose social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Monitoring and measurement and the role of paid promotion in social sites.
  • Options for hosting communities, whether on general- purpose networks or owned platforms.
  • Case studies of cancer-specific applications and scenario-based small group discussions.

Visit the registration page to sign up.

The $195 fee includes a boxed lunch, afternoon refreshments and a six-month Individual Premium membership in MCSMN. Please note: To have the workshop added to your already confirmed registration, please e-mail leslie@dfievents.com with the subject ADD WORKSHOP.
